Moon Tooth is a critically acclaimed progressive metal and experimental rock quartet from Long Island, New York. Formed in 2012, they are renowned for their virtuosic musicianship—blending heavy mathcore with soulful, bluesy melodies—and relentless DIY touring.
The band’s dynamic sound is anchored by vocalist John Carbone, guitarist Nick Lee, drummer/producer Ray Marte, and bassist Vincent Romanelli. Moon Tooth gained mainstream traction after self-releasing their debut full-length, Chromaparagon. This led to a deal with Modern Static Records for their sophomore album Crux, which was famously named one of Rolling Stone magazine’s best albums of 2019.
In 2020, the group signed with Pure Noise Records, releasing the acoustic EP Violent Grief during the pandemic, followed by their acclaimed third studio record, Phototroph, in 2022. Known for their punishing yet life-affirming live shows, they have toured and shared stages with notable acts like The Dillinger Escape Plan, Killswitch Engage, and Fit For An Autopsy
